Introducing Asia

We would like to introduce you all to Asia. She is a beautiful Russian Blue mix whom we rescued from the Long Beach shelter in June. The shelter was concerned about her and asked for help because she had come in with a head tilt and a partially self amputated toe on her left foot. We do not know what sort of trauma she endured to put her in that position.😞

The remainder of the toe was amputated and it has healed very nicely. The head tilt does not cause her any problems. 😊

Asia is a sweet girl. She likes to be held and will purr like crazy. She gets around very well. Asia is available for adoption and ready for a home of her own💕

Shadow Adopted

ADOPTION DAY🎉 Our very handsome boy Shadow was adopted!! His new mom fell in love from the moment she met and held him. She has been waiting very patiently for him and that day finally arrived. We’re so happy for them both. Have a happy life sweet boy!

Jade Update

We wanted to show you all how much progress our little Jade has made in just 2 weeks. She is using the litter box on her own and doing so pain free💕

Jade was dragging her right back leg when she was rescued on June 5th.
It was determined that she had a lower back spinal injury.

We immediately started her on Laser therapy and set her up with Gina Gould and Acuscope therapy and she is now able to pull her leg up underneath her.

She still has a ways to go. We need to build up strength and she still has some numbness in her tail that we are working on but we are very proud of this little nugget for how well she is doing.

Jade will continue with her Acuscope and Laser therapies along with daily physical therapy to improve the motion in her right knee and we are hopeful that she will regain full function of her leg and tail and develop the strength that she needs.

Please share and thank you all for the support and well wishes for this sweet girl. 💕

Introducing Gabi

This gorgeous girl is Gabi 💕 she was rescued from the Carson shelter about 1 month ago. Gabi is a talker. She plays hard and loves hard.

This is Gabi’s story. She was turned into the shelter at 6 weeks. Adopted from the shelter 5 days later and then returned the following day with a de-gloved tail. The shelter amputated a portion of her tail and several days later she was adopted a second time. Sadly, once again she was returned to the shelter when she developed an upper respiratory infection.

While we were at the shelter picking up another kitten we stopped to visit with her and she leaped out of the kennel and was so affectionate we just could not leave her.

Gabi is the sweetest, friendliest kitten who loves to kiss you. She nuzzles your neck and rubs her face all over yours. She talks all the time and is just a very happy girl.
She does need a playmate.
Gabi is available for adoption and is just waiting for her new family to find her🐾

Duchess Adopted!

We’re very excited 🎉to tell you all that our beautiful little Duchess is completely recovered from her pneumonia and that she and her sister the adorable Lizzie were adopted together this week @Juli Waldschmidt Rodriguez, a wonderful family who fell in love as soon as they met them💕Have a happy life sweet girls!

Introducing Lt. Dan

We would like to introduce you to one of our recent rescues. This is Lt Dan.😸 He is a very handsome kitten but he is also a very special kitten.

We received an email from another rescue asking if we could help this little guy. Lt Dan has a congenital deformity involving his back legs. They are essentially backwards past his knees and he is also missing essential bones. However, we have seen some amazing changes in this little man since he joined us. His left leg use to be completely backwards just like the right one but is now facing forward!

He is cute, funny and very lovable. He’ll need surgery when he’s older but for now he is a kitten just like the others who loves to play. He’s a pretty amazing kitten. A real lady’s man and quite the talker.

He does need some special assistance but gets around very well. We hope you’ll keep an eye on this amazing kitten.

Introducing Curly Sue

We would like to introduce you all to Curly Sue. She was rescued by a young person from an intersection in Orange County which was very fortunate for her in more ways than one. Curly Sue is deaf and blind-visually impaired, as she can see some bright light. She is the sweetest girl in town and exceptionally lovable. The girls took good care of her but were unable to provide for her care so they reached out to us for help. She will be available for adoption soon but first she will be going for a check up with the specialist on Wednesday for her eyes. We will keep you all posted!

Duchess update

DUCHESS UPDATE 💖

Thanks to everyone for your good wishes and support.
Our darling Duchess whom we had quite a scare with last week when she ended up with very severe pneumonia after her spay, spent a day and a half in the oxygen chamber @Southern California Veterinary Specialty Hospital. She was released after two days to go home but had to be kept quite.

Yesterday Duchess went for her first recheck after being released from the hospital. Her X-rays show that her lungs are completely clear!

She still has to complete her medications but she is allowed to play with her sister Lizzie again, who missed her very much. Duchess and Lizzie can now move forward with their adoption which will be made final early next week.

Thank you to all those who donated to help with with her bill. We are still short about $900 so if your able to help we would greatly appreciate the continued support💖

Jade update

JADE UPDATE ❤️

Jade saw Dr Jacobo and it looks as though she has a lower back spinal injury that is causing the lack of use of her back right leg and interfering with the ability for her to go to the bathroom. He believes the injuries are fairly recent and Jade is going to need some therapies to hopefully help her heal and be able to live pain free.

Jade has a difficult road ahead of her but we believe she is up for the challenge. She will need some intense therapies and has already started with laser therapy. She is scheduled for her first Acuscope therapy this Saturday. She will need both of these therapies for the next 4-6 weeks although we are hopeful that we will start to see some improvement in the next 2 weeks. The cost of these therapies is approximately $125 a week and we really need to be able to get her these therapies so that she has the best chance of recovery especially in the early weeks.

YOUR HELP IS NEEDED AND APPRECIATED ❤️

We have received $315 in donations which have taken care of her first 2 vet visits and to start her first treatment this week.

If you can donate towards Jade’s medical care, please visit: http://houseofbrokencookies.com/donate/
You can also donate directly to Primary Care Animal Hospital at (562) 274-7776

Thank you all for the support for this beautiful girl. She has a mighty purr and we hope to see her very soon running and playing with her new friends💕

Jade update

UPDATE 😸
Jade had a bath and is resting comfortably.
She’s eating good, and really enjoys her wet food.
The X-rays show that there are no broken bones so we are taking her to see Dr Jacobo who handles most of our orthopedic cases, first thing tomorrow morning to determine the best course of action.
She’s about nine weeks old and only weighs 1.7 pounds.
We need to treat the leg that isn’t working and she is not able to defacate on her own due to trauma.

She will likely need daily therapy’s but we will update everyone tomorrow as soon as we’ve seen Dr Jacobo.

Thank you to everyone that has donated. Even a little bit can go a long way and we appreciate your kindness and good will as we will be needing all the help we can get to help this baby girl get to tip top shape in the coming days ❤️😽
